Green Run is a huge neighborhood, almost as big as a city itself, right in the heart of Virginia Beach. This is a diverse neighborhood created in the early 70’s when Virginia Beach was growing and some say that it was built with Officers in the military in mind. The value of Real Estate is all in the Location, right!?
The Green Run neighborhood is an “HOA” or a Home Owners Association. When someone purchases a home in Green Run, they are making the choice to join the “HOA”. The Association maintains a community center, we call it the “Clubhouse”, with 3 swimming pools and a brand new (2019) tennis court, 14 parks and playgrounds, an athletic complex, and roughly 200 acres of common area or “green belt” including 5.5 miles of canals with 11 miles of shoreline. (from Wikipedia) The members of the “HOA” volunteer hundreds of hours each year to host many fun events each year. Some of these events include: The Annual National Night Out event in August, Easter Egg Hunt, Family Pool Parties in the summer, Selfies with Santa in December and sometimes a Bingo Game or Paint Night.
This area is full of small business owners, hard working individuals that care about the community. There is a group called “Green Run Community Leaders” that meet once a month to discuss the community. This group consists of individuals from the City, Police Dept, School Faculty, Parents, Students, Business Owners, and Clergy. You can find out more on any social media platform with this #WeAreGreenRun .
